Ismail Mohammed Shakir is an MBBS graduate from Alfaisal University. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Prof. Mo Li’s Stem Cells and Regeneration lab at KAUST as part of the MD-PhD collaborative program between KAUST and Alfaisal. Ismail has always been interested in a physician-scientist career since his early days in medical school.

He spent his college summer breaks in the US training in translational research. After finishing his PhD at KAUST, Ismail plans to pursue his further clinical training in Internal Medicine and Transplant Medicine in the US.
