Biography

Dr. Salleh Al-Ehaideb is the acting Head of The Saudi Biobank and the Director of the animal research facilities in Riyadh, Jeddah, and al-hasa. He also, served as the Charmin of the IACUC committee from 2020 to 2022.

Dr. Ehaideb received his B.S. in pharmaceutical sciences in 2007 from King Saud University. He received his Master in Interdisciplinary Studies (pharmacogenomics) and PhD in Genetics in 2012 and 2015 respectively. He also, received postdoctoral training on electrophysiological recordings at the university of Missouri were he assisted the integrity of neuronal firing.

Dr. Ehaideb focus on the area of neurodegenerative diseases research, in particular epilepsy. In his research, he utilize the well-established model organism Drosophila melanogaster (fruit fly) to elucidate the underlying mechanisms of prickle and KCNT1 associated epilepsy. Currently, Dr. Ehaideb is working of developing a drosophila model for heatstroke.
