Robert leads the Biosecurity Solutions Business Development Unit of Concentric, the biosecurity division of Ginkgo Bioworks. He focuses on building end-to-end solutions tailored to our client's needs across pathogen surveillance, pathogen identification and characterization, and response mechanisms. The Biosecurity Solutions Unit leads several high-profile engagements, including Ginkgo's engagement with the CDC on Traveler-based Genomic Surveillance (TGS), where Concentric is using a combination of testing modalities, including pooled, individual, and wastewater testing, and genomic sequencing to identify existing and new pathogens as they enter the United States through its major airports. Moreover, Robert is deeply involved in the company's international expansion, with biosecurity projects in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Australia. 

Robert brings a combination of strategy and project management skills built through six years as a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Co. and an affinity with and understanding of science developed through his engineering training and research work. Robert holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Master's Degree in Nanotechnology and Electronics from the Ecole Polytechnique de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, and the Polytechnic School of Turin, Italy.
