KAUST would like to congratulate Pierre Magistretti, Director of the KAUST Smart-Health Initiative, on being elected a Foreign Member of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Pierre was elected with two eminent international colleagues; Emmanuelle Charpentier, Nobel Laureate in chemistry for the development of CRISPR technology, and Svante Paabo, an evolutionary geneticist who has sequenced the genome of Neanderthals. Founded in 1603, the Accademia is one of the oldest academies in the Western world.
