Snippets screening of documentary "You are what you eat: A twin experiment"
Panelists: Dr Julian Hunt (virtual) and Dr Peiying Hong (in-person)
In this documentary that comprises of 4 episodes, identical twins are put in a scientific experiment carried out by the Stanford group to adopt different diets (vegan vs. nutritious omnivore) for 8 weeks to see how food impacts the body. However, this documentary goes beyond health and diet, and discussed the impacts of diet on our environment.
In this EnSE seminar, snippets of the documentary will be shown to explore topics related to the sustainability and ethics of animal farming, and humane solutions. After the documentary snippets are shown, we will proceed with a panel discussion whereby Dr Julian Hunt will serve as a panelist to provide more in-depth insights on how technological and management advancement can enhance the sustainability of food production in a hyper-arid environment. Dr Peiying Hong will serve as a panelist to provide more in-depth insights on environmental pollution issues arising from food production.
